How lucky we are.

Have you ever put yourself down, or on the other side of the coin, given yourself too much credit? I think we can all say that at times we think a little lower, or higher, of ourselves than we should. We have to remember that God created each person for a special purpose. Every believer should stand tall with high self-esteem, yet humble, by understanding who he or she is in Christ.

Genesis 1:26 Then God says, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over the earth, and over the creatures that move along the ground."

What an incredible honor it is to be loved so much that God made us in His image. That's why we need to love ourselves and others. It's not egotistic to love yourself, it's the right thing to do. Of course on the other side of the coin, we shouldn't think too highly of ourselves (Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourselves more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you). Find the fine line between the two extremes, and be self-confident, yet loving. We are a chosen people, we are a loved people.

Let's take the time today to have a love fest. When you see yourself, remember that God created you, and He doesn't make junk. Love yourself. When you see someone who doesn't think and act like you, don't judge, remember that God created them, and He doesn't make junk. Love them. Both are hard to do at times, but we've faced tougher challenges before...:)

Make it a great day today and don't forget to tell someone about Jesus.

In Our Lord's image,
Pastor Mike
